Man, so we finally got a peek at this next big update for Monster Hunter Wilds—Title Update 2. Felt like waiting forever, right? Capcom decided to spill the beans during this June Spotlight livestream thing. Honestly, there’s a lot to unpack.
First off, we finally know the drop date—Monday, June 30. Get ready for some downtime, ‘cause the game’s going offline for a few hours for maintenance. You know the drill.
Now, what’s in this update? Oh, just some new monsters. NBD. We’re talking Lagiacrus—yep, and Seregios too. Ah, Lagiacrus is bringing in underwater combat to Wilds. Like, imagine trying to fight it without whipping out your weapon whenever you want. Could be annoying? You gotta finish A World Turned Upside Down, and that Forest Doshaguma side mission before even thinking about it. Hunter Rank 31, at least.
And hey, Seregios isn’t holding back either. Same mission, same rank requirement. New armor sets too—not just for you, but also for the Palico. And if you’re feeling brave, Tempered (8 Star) versions are lurking out there if you’re at HR 41 or higher. Yikes.
Oh, and brace yourselves, there’s an Arch-tempered Uth Duna coming, July 30. It’s part of an Event Quest, HR 50 and up only. Craft some new gear if you dare.
On the crafting side of things, layered weapons are finally here! So cool. We get to change how our weapons look while keeping their stats. Need to finish crafting a weapon tree to use its look. Artian Weapons can be layers too, but only Rarity 8, of course. Typical, right?
TU2’s throwing in some minor changes too—like swapping Alma out for Erik as your handler. And hey, you can have a support hunter with Sword & Shield this time.
Almost forgot—the next Wilds seasonal shindig: Festival of Accord: Flamefete. July 23-August 6. Expect new armor, decorations, gestures. The Grand Hub’s dressing up for it, and there are new meals at the cantina. Mouth’s watering just thinking about it.
Capcom’s already teasing Title Update 3 for September, another new monster, another Festival of Accord thingy. Gotta keep us hooked, right?
Honestly, Wilds is kinda struggling lately. It’s like Capcom’s biggest launch yet here we are. Steam numbers are dropping faster than my enthusiasm for Monday mornings. Overwhelmingly Negative reviews. Ouch.
Wonder if TU2’s gonna save the day or if we’re just gonna keep paddling upstream. Fingers crossed, I guess.
