Avatar’s Cabbage Merchant Joins the World of Magic: The Gathering

So, here’s the scoop — Team Avatar’s crashing into Magic: The Gathering. Yeah, you heard me right. And, guess what? Everyone’s favorite character, the Cabbage Merchant (or Cabbage Man if you wanna go by street name), is getting his own card. I mean, seriously? The guy whose entire shtick is having his cabbages annihilated by Aang and his sky bison, Appa. I still hear him shouting, “My cabbages!!!” in my sleep.

Anyway, (sorry, where was I?) they revealed this new card in some Magic livestream thing on Tuesday. It’s part of this Jumpstart product, which, you know, is like a gateway drug for new players or something. Get this though — this card might have some legit abilities that hardcore players might dig. Like, it’s legal in Commander but not in Standard. Whatever that means — I don’t make the rules.

Oh, and those clever folks at Wizards of the Coast teased us with whispers of more Cabbage Merchant stuff. Variations, maybe? You can practically hear them wink-winking. “Might see more on some art pieces,” said one of those livestream hosts, “and he isn’t always this happy.” Cryptic much? But hey, more cabbage chaos sounds good to me.
