Weirdly enough, you know those updates you never see coming? Boom! Elden Ring Nightreign just dropped one. Somehow slipped in without any downtime. Sneaky, right? But, yeah, you gotta update to chill with others. No brainer.
So, 1.01.4 is following hot on the heels of 1.01.3—remember that one from June? Nothing mind-blowing, but stuff you actually need.
Okay, side tour: cookie settings—ugh, who even gets them right? Anyway, back to the game; the new thing they tossed in is the weapon type info in the Armament Menu. Handy, I guess. You can quickly see if you’re picking up a sword, a club, or… whatever makes you happy. Helps if you’re the type who collects stuff for buffs. Like, me? Sometimes I keep the weirdest things. No reason.
Now, bugs. They fixed some that could mess with your run big time. Imagine your crew bailing at the same moment? Total chaos for matchmaking. But, yeah, fixed now.
Oh, and those missing gestures and achievements? Bummer, gotta do the dance again to grab them. Always a catch, huh? But I think they tweaked some things under the hood. Something about the Sentient Pest Nightlord ready to be crowned Everdark Sovereign? Wild stuff.
Expect some new in-game action by July 3. BTW, Nightreign’s bosses are leveling up. They’ve got these Everdark Sovereign versions—wild ride if you’ve beaten the originals. New moves designed to totally trip you up. Like, yay!
And because I’m forgetful, Gapping Jaws and Darkdrift Knight boss fights… They’ll surprise veterans too. New attacks that’ll make your jaw drop. No kidding.
Here, check out this pic of Gnoster the Sentient Pest. Looks intense, right? Pest 2.0, anyone interested?
Anyway, here’s the down-low on patch 1.01.4:
– Weapon type? Now shows up in the Armament Info menu.
– Fixed the matchmaking chaos. THANKFULLY.
– “It’s Raining!” gesture issue in Multiplayer? Sorted. But, gotta jump through the hoops again, sorry.
– Weird revival after nearly dying in the third-day boss fight—patched.
– Background music glitch in Recluse Remembrance—gone.
– Achievement hiccup in “Shifting Earth: Crater”—fixed too. Even if you’ve done it before, you’ll finally get the credit. Yay?
Plus, they squashed some other bugs lurking around.
