Once Human, that survival game from Starry Studio under NetEase, is finally making its way to PlayStation and Xbox consoles, supposedly in 2026. I remember when it first showed up on PC back in July 2024; it was like this juggernaut of a thing, hitting over 230K players on Steam right at launch. I mean, come on, that’s a serious debut! It’s been hanging out with the big shots from NetEase—Marvel Rivals, Naraka: Bladepoint, you know the crew.
There have been, like, a ton of updates since day one. Though, this whole console thing? It sounds like it’s mostly squared away. But maybe that’s just wishful thinking—who knows?
Anyway, during the Global Annual Showcase thing in July 2025, the crew just casually dropped the news on us: PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are on their way. And while they’re at it, they’re teasing us with talks of previews and console-specific tweaking. Oh, and if you’re all aboard the hype train, you can hit up the wishlist for some early-bird goodies. Fun, right? They even said you can use your PC/mobile account on console, which is great ’cause who wants to start from scratch? However, it sounds like the PlayStation and Xbox gang might have a bit of catch-up to do. Classic, right?
Now, for the console folk who’ve been tapping their feet—let’s say they’ve already roped in mobile players earlier this year. The mobile versions have decent ratings too, like in the 4.5/5 area. Not too shabby. The devs must be crossing fingers that console folks bite as hard.
In the meantime, there’s this shiny Annual Version 2.0 update that just hit, right when the stream was happening. New class system, Endless Dream PvE, Dreamland Wonder event—sounds like a day at the amusement park. Hit up PC or mobile if you wanna check it out.
So, while we twiddle our thumbs for the console release, there’s still a lot going on in the world of Once Human. Stay tuned—or don’t. Your call.
