Oh man, where do I even begin with this Black Ops 7 thing? Seriously, it’s like we’re all hanging out at the bus stop, but, you know, without a bus schedule. Activision gave us a little tease back in June at the Xbox Showcase. You know, just enough to say “Hey, we’re still here,” but then… nothing. Not even a whisper.
Okay, maybe they did mention summer. But like, what does that even mean? Summer’s a long time if you’re waiting for something cool, like a game, to drop. June turned into July, and here we are — still in the dark. Well, kind of.
So, jump to mid-July, and bam, Activision finally spills a little more tea. August! Yep, mark your calendars for that. Black Ops 7 is getting a cameo at gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19. I mean, they’re part of this whole big gaming shindig, which, sure, sounds fun, but usually, these Call of Duty games get their own spotlight. They’re like the rockstars of gaming, needing their own stage and all.
Anyway — wait, no — what was I saying? Right, the showcase. It kicks off at 11am PT, or 7pm over in the UK, depending on where you’re chilling. I wonder if it’ll be one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it trailers again. Or maybe they’ll treat us to a longer peek later, with more bells and whistles, you know? Like, a fiesta of graphics and explosions, a little bit before the beta rolls out, perhaps in September.
There’s so much we haven’t heard yet. Co-op campaign’s back, which is sweet, and they’re diving into near-future vibes again. And fans? Oh, they’re hoping for some juicy threads connecting this to Black Ops 6. Continuity is key, I guess. But really, when’s all this stuff gonna drop? Everyone’s thinking November, which feels like forever right now, especially if you’re itching to play on your PC, PlayStation, or Xbox.
So yeah, fingers crossed for August 19. Who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us — or not. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
