I’m diving into the wild world of Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Eevee Grove set, which popped onto the scene about, what, two weeks ago? Time flies, and if you’ve been playing, you probably have those essential cards nailed down. So, think about stashing those Hourglasses for the next set, maybe hitting in July? Yeah, I have no idea what’s coming either. But hey, maybe we’ll get some love from the Gen 2 and Gen 3 critters that seem to be hiding. It’s kind of a mystery, right? But fingers crossed for some solid Fighting cards since they’ve been doing a disappearing act since Triumphant Light.
Not saying the Fighting decks are snoozers – they’re just kind of, I don’t know, in a rut? Like, everyone seems to be stuck on cards from Space-Time Smackdown or Triumphant Light. It’s like, okay new sets, any time you wanna shake things up is fine by me. Lucario Ex got in on the action from Shining Revelry but didn’t exactly wow the crowd. Maybe it’s just me. Wait, does anyone else get distracted by all these Ex cards like Passimian and Lycanroc? Anyway, Rampardos and Garchomp Ex are holding the crown for best Fighting decks right now, hands down.
Oh, and there’s those visuals of some cards like you’d expect, but I won’t dig into all that. It’s enough that Space-Time Smackdown somehow dropped a card that still seems super OP, right? Probably won’t change much there, just saying.
Now, speaking of Rampardos, gotta say it’s got quite the rep in Pokemon TCG Pocket. Came out in Space-Time Smackdown way, way back in January 2025. Feels like ages! This beast has 150 HP and hits for 130 damage with one Fighting Energy. That’s nuts! Yeah, if it knocks out the opponent, it’s taking some self-damage, but whatever. All that power comes with its quirks – like needing Skull Fossil, so it’s Stage 2. But there’s Rare Candy from Celestial Guardians, so you can get it going fast. Silvally combos make it even better, keeping the deck lively since Extradimensional Crisis.
And, random side note: did you notice how this deck is kinda a “half-Fighting” thing? With Rampardos and Silvally, it tosses in some Normal-type action. Who knew?
But hold up, Rampardos isn’t the only bigwig here. They really need more cards to up the Fighting type game. Be great to see something else get the spotlight.
Okay, there’s also Garchomp Ex from Triumphant Light, packing 170 HP, and has these rad attacks. Quick shoutout to Linear Attack and Dragon Claw. Rampardos pairs well with it, making an impressive duo. Both being Stage 2 means they go well with Lillie for healing. Cyrus fits right into this setup too. It’s like the deck is this neat little puzzle, all fitting together.
And oh boy, did I go down a rabbit hole there. Anyway, there’s so much more on how these decks mesh but I’ve rambled enough. Keep an eye out for those new cards, maybe give the Fighting type some new oomph.
