Hey, so there’s this game called WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers. Ever heard of it? It’s from Leenzee and 505 Games. It’s this, uh, Soulslike RPG thing, set in Shu during—get this—the late Ming Dynasty. Yeah, we’re talking ancient history with a supernatural twist. The whole thing feels like a fever dream with monsters lurking around every corner. You step into the shoes of Bai Wuchang. A pirate, but with amnesia. I mean, typical, right? Oh, and she’s battling some creepy Feathering disease that turns people into bloodthirsty loonies.
So, how do you navigate this chaos? You got your left analog stick for steering Wuchang around, and the right one for checking out the scenery. Need to smack something? Tap that R1 for a light attack, and R2 for when you’re feeling extra punchy. The Square button’s your go-to for using items, like this Manna Vase thing that heals you. It’s pretty neat, but limited. Refills when you rest at a shrine, though. Downside? All the baddies resurrect, too. Bummer.
The game doesn’t skimp on weaponry. You start with an ancient sword, but there’s more loot—axes, spears, you name it. Different armor pieces boost your stats, like damage resistance. Pro tip: grab Jade Pendants for some sweet combat boosts. Your magical arsenal is spell-tastic. Seriously, spells are categorized into magic, feathering, and more. They depend on your control state, so, no might? No spell. Skyborn Might covers the cost. Just, uh, don’t get hit mid-cast or kiss your health goodbye.
Beating enemies drops items; miss collecting stuff, and it lands in the Donation Box. Sounds generous, but it’s just good housekeeping. Red Mercury is the currency here. Boosts your stats and levels, crucial for dealing with Madness—yes, it’s a thing. Too much madness spawns a demon. It’s your evil twin, kind of. Defeat it, get your Red Mercury back. Or it’s gone forever. A gentle reminder not to die too often.
Trophies? Oh, they’re there. Platinum included. You’ll need to beat endings, bosses—the works. Collect every weapon or Jade Pendant for extra bling. There’s a bit of everything in this trophy hunt.
The game’s out soon on PS5, sporting customizable graphics—HDR, motion blur, depth of field—tweaked for your visual pleasure. Costs $49.99. Want the Deluxe pack? That’s $59.99, but with costumes and weapons thrown in. Big spenders, rejoice.
Anyway, that’s the scoop. Or my scattered recollection of it. Whatever works.
