Okay, so there’s this guy, Zack Nelson, right? Runs a YouTube channel called JerryRigEverything, and he’s got his hands on the Nintendo Switch 2. Like, he literally tore it apart. No kidding. He poked around in there, and yeah, found out it’s pretty modular. You know, like Lego for adults — Joy-Con 2 sticks, headphone jack, the works.
Everyone’s babbling about how fixing this thing might burn a hole in your wallet ’cause of the pricey parts. But guess what? You can actually take it apart at home. Just a Phillips screwdriver and one of those tri-point things — like, do they even sell them at regular stores? Anyway — oh, yeah, putting it back together wasn’t some Herculean task either. Zack did it, and boom, it worked like nothing happened.
Now, here’s where it gets messy. Batteries. Glued down! Seriously, Nintendo? You gotta drown them in alcohol and wrestle them out, like having a battle with sticky goo. And let’s not forget the game card slot and USB-C ports. Non-modular city, folks. Gotta change the whole motherboard if they kick the bucket. Not a fan? Well, Soldering 101 might come in handy.
But here’s the kicker — Zack really tested its mettle. Pliers in hand — seriously, who does that? — hammering away at the screen as if it owed him money. Smashing away till — what was it, 50 tries? — the thing finally gave out. And even then, after a blackout moment, a quick reboot and hey presto, back to gaming. With glass everywhere, mind you. Little shards gleaming up at you like, “Surprise!”
So yeah, Nintendo’s Switch 2 can take a beating. Maybe don’t chuck it at a wall in rage — gotta mind that warranty. But if it tumbles a couple of times, might just bounce back. And if you’re into this stuff, maybe keep an eye on Tom’s Hardware. Apparently, they’ve got all the juicy tech gossip and more. Hit that Follow button if that’s your jam.
