I’m telling you, folks, Resolution Games just dropped a gameplay clip that’s got me kinda hyped. It’s their Dungeons & Dragons spin on Demeo—yeah, that VR tabletop game that got everyone buzzing in 2021. So, they teased us back in January and finally gave us a peek. Took long enough, right? Kinda like waiting for a bus that’s always late. Anyway, they teamed up with Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast for this mashup called Demeo x DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Battlemarked. Snappy name, huh?
So here’s the gist: you and three buddies dive into monster-laden dungeons—it’s basically Demeo but with a D&D twist. Think swords clashing and dice rolling. Oh, and the dungeons? Pretty detailed. Like, unnecessarily so. Not complaining though! I got distracted by some, uh, scenic cobwebs in the corners. Why did that stick with me? No clue.
Now, if you’ve never played Demeo, let me break it down for you. It’s like you’re in a board game, dukin’ it out with monsters on gridded maps. You move with action points, and don’t even get me started on the dice—it’s got a whole three faces. Yeah, three. Simple yet effective, right? Maybe they nailed it. Or it’s a massive shortcut.
Battlemarked seems to keep things simple too—same dice, same idea. You roll it, hope for swords (not skulls—those are bad news). You’ve got your pick of action cards: attacks, defenses, all the good stuff. Each character class brings its own flair.
Here’s where it gets techy—launching on multiple platforms! VR on Quest 3/S, PSVR 2, PC VR. Regular screens on Steam and PS5 too. They’re dangling a late 2025 release date in front of us. Feels like they’re teasing, and I’m here for it. Gonna be support on who-knows-what other platforms too. Should be a ride.
And listen up, they’re roping in Matt Sernett for the story side of things—which I’m actually stoked about. You might know him from some of the old D&D games – Baldur’s Gate and the like. Good stuff. Good pedigree.
In case you’re itching to jump on the hype train, you can wishlist the game on the Horizon Store for Quest, PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, and Steam. Why do we do this? Wishlist stuff? Maybe it’s just human nature. Keeps the excitement alive, I guess. So yeah, go do that if you’re into it. Catch you in the dungeons!
