You can finish Space Marine 2’s main campaign pretty quickly, but that doesn’t mean the game is short on exciting updates. The folks at Saber Interactive have been diligently adding fresh content, and just this Thursday, they rolled out their third major update. The new patch, called Datavault, enriches the game with a brand-new chamber aboard the battle barge, tons of fresh cosmetics, an additional PvP map, and the menacing Tyranid Biovore.
In Space Marine 2, players get to step into the boots of Commander Titus for the main storyline, while also having the option to dive into side missions called Operations. These extra missions weave around the primary narrative, shedding light on various military tactics and strategies. While waiting for your turn in Operations or gearing up for a PvP face-off, you can lounge around the Ultramarine battle barge. Now, you’ll find this cool new area called the Datavault. Think of it as a repository where Tech-Priests store information about enemies you encounter. Players can take on challenges to collect this data, and in return, they score research data currency used to snag awesome power armor pieces and weapon skins.
With this update, the monstrous Biovore, known for its striking tabletop presence with crab-like limbs and a huge organic cannon on its back, makes its way into Operations. Plus, PvP fans are in for a treat with a fresh map inspired by a Necron tomb.
The Datavault update comes packed with more than just that. It also launches a new season pass featuring Raven Guard and Salamander armor sets, introduces an Absolute difficulty mode for hardcore players, enhances game quality with numerous minor improvements, and implements various balance adjustments. For those keen on all the specifics, you can catch the complete patch notes on the Focus website.
