Boy, oh boy. So today, THQ Nordic went and threw this wild digital showcase shindig. It’s like they were showing off their shiny new toys to gamers, just dangling ‘em in front of our faces. You got a peek at “Reanimal,” some “Tides of Tomorrow,” “The Eternal Life of Goldman” (don’t ask me what that means), and a bunch more I can’t even keep up with. Oh, and they tossed out a demo for the “Gothic 1 Remake.” Xbox players can dive in, like, right now. Seriously.
So, anyway—or wait, should I say “back to the thing?”—here’s what hit.
First up, you can pre-order “SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide” today. Yeah, you read that right. SpongeBob and Patrick, our heroes of the deep, are back doing… something. I didn’t quite catch what, but I guess you can pretend you’re in Bikini Bottom, running around with David Hasselhoff’s tunes in your ears. Why Hasselhoff? No clue, but it sounds fun. If you’re into funky costumes (because who isn’t?), pre-ordering gets you some Natural Costume Pack deal. Fancy, huh? Plus, you get goodies like the Tidal Season Pass. You know, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Then there’s this Gothic Remake. A trip back to the Valley of Mines, but it’s just a demo for now. You won’t see it in the finished game—kinda like a preview that leaves you hanging. It’s like checking the fridge knowing there’s nothing but leftovers. But hey, if you’re a Gothic fan, it’s something, right?
And man, this “Eternal Life of Goldman” trailer. It’s… a lot to take in? Goldman’s out there doing… I’m not sure what, but there’s shattered stuff and platforming galore. It’s got vibes and a story, sort of like a drama but wrapped in a game. If you’re into vibrant yet dark, well, there you have it.
“Reanimal” though, whoa. New look and as weird as you’d expect from the Little Nightmares crew. Monsters, orphans, and a rich backstory. Didn’t see that coming, did you? But you get to play with pals, so it’s not all doom and gloom. Unless I’m missing the point—I might be.
Oh, and “Tides of Tomorrow”—Digixart, the guys behind “Route 96,” are trying something funky. Asynchronous gameplay, whatever that means, probably something where timing’s key or I missed the memo. But hey, it’s a colorful, post-apocalyptic scene, and you’re holding the fate of its universe in your hands. No pressure.
Then they dropped the bomb with “Wreckfest 2!” It’s like, demolition derby madness is back, but you have to wait ‘til 2026. If you liked crashing cars in ways that make zero sense, this one’s for you.
Same year, you’ll get “Titan Quest II.” More mythological mayhem—Greek gods and monsters, and you get to mess around with your character’s skills. Sounds like a recipe for chaos, or maybe adventure. Or both. Who knows?
“Wreckreation” showed up with a new trailer, too. It’s like a playground for car nuts. Drive over dinosaurs, make your tracks—because why not? Change the game settings just ‘cause you feel like it. Sounds like a dream, or a fever-induced thought. And it’s out later this year.
Lastly, mark your calendars or jot it down, we’re seeing hands-on at Gamescom later this month. Personally, I’m all in for catching these demos in action. Reanimal or SpongeBob, take your pick. And some devs will be there, probably sharing secrets and bits you won’t find anywhere else. Grab some popcorn, this’ll be a ride.
