Maze: Interim Odyssey from TreeFall Studios… it’s kind of oddly nestled between, you know, the Pedestal of Trials and what’s next—Rising Trials. Yeah, it’s like a bridge or something, but hey, that’s cool, right? You’ve got new puzzles, and new areas stretched across four levels. Feels like trying to juggle flaming swords—no clue why that came to mind. Anyway, checkpoints save your mistakes… a lifesaver, or maybe, a time-saver? I reviewed the Pedestal of Trials back on the ol’ PS4 in 2021. Why do I remember this stuff? No idea.
So, first-person view, huh? You’re using the left analog stick to move, right stick to… look around? Sounds like every game, but jumping with X and sprinting with R2 is kinda fun, right? Falling into a pit? Ouch. But hey, place a checkpoint with Square, respawn with L2. Easy peasy? Not really. Coins await… ten per level, in fact.
Oh, and trophies—oof—a full list, including that coveted Platinum. The game’s Cross-Buy, so you get PS4 and PS5 versions. Feels like you’re collecting trophies in different dimensions! Bronze, Silver, Gold—like an Olympic event for gamers. Did I mention hidden collectibles? No? Well, there you go. Trophy Guide? Maybe for a rainy day.
Sliding back into the game itself, it’s priced at just $2.99. Seems like pocket change these days. PS4 and PS5 at no extra cost… that’s like buying one coffee but getting two. Kind of.
You know, this review is based on a PS5 copy given by TreeFall Studios. So, yeah, there’s that.
