Argath’s disdain for, well, you know, folks down on their luck… wow, it’s never been more HD. Seriously, like a high-def paint-by-numbers kit but with fury.
So, here I was, watching this Sony State of Play shindig—typical evening, right? I mean, sometimes they throw a bone to us Switch people. And guess what? Yeah, it happened again.
Final Fantasy Tactics. Oh man, they’re dusting off this relic from ’97/’98, remember PlayStation? Good times. Apparently, someone at Square Enix thought, “Hey, let’s get this thing on the Switch and its shiny new sibling!” I mean, finally—like, hello, it’s about time. We get to dive back into Ivalice—remember the whole Final Fantasy XII universe?—without borrowing someone’s ancient console. The journey continues, apparently, like it had a life of its own on GBA and DS, but this? This, my friends, is a first for Nintendo.
Okay, switching gears real quick because, wow, they hit us with more. Picture this: Digital Eclipse, and I’m not making this up, releases a “kollection” (clever, right?) that’s all about spilling pixelated guts. Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection or something like that. It’s packing all the early games—like ‘92 to ‘97 era—and those “Ultimate” additions. Both arcade and console frames, just in case you missed them in the ‘90s. Maybe even more games? Who knows—it’s a wild ride.
And then, plot twist! IO Interactive, those clever developers, are whipping up a James Bond game, with the ultra-mysterious title “007 First Light.” Slated for 2026 on Switch 2, courtesy of some earlier April Direct sneak peek. Seems ages away, doesn’t it? But hey, the anticipation makes it sweet, right?
Oh, almost forgot! How do you feel about golf? Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots—sounds like a party, huh? Dropping soon, September 5 to be exact. And get this—Pac-Man swinging clubs. I mean, I’m half-expecting to see him chase ghosts on the green.
Lastly, Ninja Gaiden fans, unite! Hold onto your hats for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound hitting July 31. And, drum roll, the original NES soundtrack maestros—Keiji Yamagishi, Ryuichi Niita, and Kaori Nakabai—are back with more tunes. Nostalgia, folks. It’s coming at us fast.
So, anyhow, there you have it. A mesh of happenings and blasts from the past, all in one virtual room. Ain’t life colorful?
