EA just rolled out a summer roadmap for The Sims 4, packed with all sorts of things. Seriously, you might want to buckle up. So, they’re doing this "Sim Your Summer" thing, and it feels like they’re throwing everything they have at us. There’s a livestream coming up, the roadmap’s getting revealed on June 5, a freakin’ Sims Board Game is on the way, and a bunch of updates for The Sims FreePlay. It’s like, why are they doing all this at once? I guess because summer.
But wait — there’s something kinda sneaky going on. There’s this Nature’s Calling event that didn’t even make it on the official roadmap? It was announced in some blog post. These events are like, blink and you miss them, because they run for four to six weeks, tops. You log in, snag some rewards, do quests for points. That’s how you unlock stuff like new items and, uh, potions. But you only use the points from this specific event, so don’t slack off.
Here’s how it’s gonna play out, I think. It kicks off on June 24 and hangs around until August 5. They’ve added a two-week cushion, probably for people like me who procrastinate. You get a woodworking table just for logging in — because why not? — and everything you earn attaches to your EA account, so you’re unlikely to lose anything important. Weekly goodies include:
Week 1:
- Some reclaimed woodworking thing
- Glasses that remind me of dragonfly wings
- Wooden panels for walls?
- A magazine called "Touch Grass Weekly" — I dunno, does that mean something?
Week 2:
- A recipe for crafting a dining chair
- Swimsuit stuff
- A new recipe for cooking
- Another "Touch Grass Weekly" — apparently it’s now a series?
Week 3:
- A new radio station with nature sounds
- Recipe for a dining table
- Tattoo stuff — sounds interesting, right?
- More "Touch Grass Weekly" issues
Week 4:
- A wooden toilet they call "The Wooden Throne"
- Some rocks for decoration
- Sandals for trail walking?
- Yep, another "Touch Grass Weekly" — what is happening here?
So the event is all woodsy-themed, with woodworking and some secret you’ll find outdoors. Almost feels magical, right? The new woodworking table could unlock the mystery voice you hear during the event. Or maybe it’s just me hoping for something out of a fantasy novel. Rumors swirling around say the next expansion pack’s about nature and — wait for it — fairies? The event description’s kinda poetic too:
"One fateful day, you hear a faint voice as you step outside. The voice is fleeting and is soon gone, as if carried away by the wind itself. Still, you long to hear it again…"
Doesn’t that scream fairy tale? Some of the items, like those dragonfly glasses and swimwear, look like they could be for fairies. Plus, the patterns are based on dragonfly wings — though, if you played Sims 3, it might remind you of fairy wings from that game.
So, there’s a lot happening. Personally, I’m just here for the chaos and seeing if any of these leaks are spot on or just wild guesses. Can’t wait!
